Once we landed we looked for information. Much to our surprise, we ran into the best “tourist guide” we could find: Xiomara, the crafts woman from the town square. She was the light of our eyes those three days we were there. She recommended Melones Beach and Tamarindo Beach for snorkeling and she wasn’t lying.
The next morning we couldn’t contain ourselves, we were anxious to discover everything the Island had to offer. We set up our equipment and started out in Tamarindo. We saw from sea turtles to a baby stingray, like you would experience on film. My guests were surprised and amazed by so much natural beauty. The afternoon snuck up on us in Melones and the sunset was the most beautiful I had ever seen with Cayo Luis Peña as its frame. It was as if time stood still and we were there for eternity. Definitely, that scenery would mark our lives and the insatiable desire to return and try to surpass what only Culebra could.
